Communications STRATEGIST

A little bit about me:

I love creating meaningful, beautiful things that expand spaces in people that were once closed. I find solace with community and friends when they share moments of their life with me.

A little bit about my role at PWB:

My role at PWB focuses on strategizing, implementing, and executing external communications to increase PWB's audience and members through our social media channels, newsletter, and website. My goal is to align the algorithm to the use of each social media channel. In doing this, we can increase visibility and retain followers, strengthening PWB's presence to a varied demographic.

What are you most passionate about?

My chosen family and friends. Rice.

Why is decolonizing photography/storytelling important to you?

Our lived experiences deserve their own space and life told through a genuine and authentic lens, decentering a learned filtered language where safety and comfortability has been prioritized over the truth of our own voices.

Favourite quote:

"If you are careful with people, they will offer a part of themselves. That is the big secret.” -Eve Arnold

What makes you more than a photographer?

I’ve learned that what truly matters is treating people as more than just a subject or an interesting part of a story. They are the story. Retelling a story means listening to every detail, seeing every movement, remembering the air that surrounds their words - I would say, what makes me more than a photographer? Not only do I use my eyes, but I also use my ears, and my heart.
