ABOUT THE CHARITY
Founded in 1986, this NGO’s mission is to enable rural people to work effectively in promoting and advancing the ability of their community to attain basic needs. This organization seeks to advance the interests of the island community and to improve the effectiveness of NGOs serving the community. In particular, this NGO seeks to work towards poverty alleviation by promoting equity and equality for rural-dwelling peoples.
The focus will be documenting this NGO’s work based in one major project site, as well as neighbouring islands, in the Huvadhoo Atoll. The volunteer will be documenting the major focus areas of the organization, which include poverty alleviation, democratic governance, environment and climate change, youth and women empowerment, drug and substance abuse prevention, and community development. This organization would also like to document its international volunteer program.
Experience in photo-documentary or photojournalism/Experience in video documentary
- Ability to take photos/videos underwater with own underwater equipment
Comfort in boats and working in/near water
Appreciation for new experiences and adventure
Excellent interpersonal communication skills in English
