ABOUT THE PARTNER PROJECT
This NGO’s mission is to educate and empower girls and women, promote gender equality, advocate for women’s representation and participation in all levels of decision-making and peace building processes. The organization also strives to contribute to the elimination of gender-based stereotypes, discrimination and violence by increasing the responsibilities and accountability of duty bearers to protect and fulfill women’s rights.
The photographer (and videographer) will be introduced to the NGO’s staff and volunteers, visit several project sites (such as local schools), and attend meetings (such as the Coalition to Stop Violence against Women). The photos (and videos) will be used for the NGO’s website, social media, promotional materials, and help the NGO recruit more volunteers with the help of these materials.
Proficient in photo-documentary/photojournalism
Experience using editing software (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign)
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Adaptable to new and different situations
Storytelling - Must submit a minimum of one (1) article 800-1000 words upon completion of the project, to complement the images/footage of this assignment.
