ABOUT THE CHARITY
The organization was registered in the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic in 1991 as the Public Association "Umut Balykchy", and on July 4, 2003, was re-registered as Public Association "Resource Center for the Elderly".
The NGO’s mission is to promote the formation of an enabling environment that protects and promotes the interests of elderly people, the quality of life, institutional development, the promotion of civic initiatives and fair public policy towards the older generation of Kyrgyz Republic. The NGO’s goals is to effectively influences the creation of a political, socio-economic and cultural environment in the Kyrgyz Republic that ensures the improvement of the living conditions of the older people through the integrated approach to the development of the communities of older people, capacity-development of older people, as well as a fair state policy for older people.
They work to address the following UN Sustainable Development Goals: 1) No Poverty, 2) Zero Hunger, 3) Good health and well-being, 5) Gender Equality and 10) Reduced Inequalities.
The NGO requires both photographer and videographer.
The Project will take place in 4 Project sites – including the Day Care Center in Balykchy, Issyk-Kul region and meeting with the members and elderly people of DCC in order to document NGO’s work and elderly people. In Bishkek city, photographer and videographer will participate in the Annual Fair for Elderly, they will also visit Tokmok city and Don-Aryk village to meet the Federation of self-help groups of elderly people.
The images and video will be used for raising awareness of public and state bodies to problems of elderly people and promotion of active longevity among the elderly through materials. The received photos and videos will be posted on the website of the RCE, Facebook, Instagram and to prepare reports to donors, to create presentations and collages, information booklets and other information products of RCE.
Proficiency in photo-documentary and photojournalism
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, especially with elderly people
Adaptable to new and different situations, flexible and patient
Respect to cultural sensitivity as you will be working with very sensitive elderly people with different backgrounds, life experiences and current problems.
Storytelling - Must submit a minimum of one (1) article 800-1000 words upon completion of the project, to complement the images/footage of this assignment.
Experience in overseas development and travelling abroad in developing nations
