what is the pwb program?
The PWB Program is a crucial part of fulfilling our mission.
We recognize that while photography and video are invaluable ways of communicating messages, sharing perspectives, fostering cross-cultural understanding, and inspiring others, they are not always accessible to all nonprofits. That's why we partners with grassroots nonprofits in need all over the world who are contributing to the UN Sustainable Development goals (a list of 17 goals that encompass everything from healthcare, to women's empowerment, to human rights, to sustainability and innovation).

How does the PWB Program work?
It's easy. Browse through our Current Opportunities online. PWB and our partners recognize that our photographers and videographers are donating a valuable contribution of their time a, so we want to give you the most value possible.
When you become a member, your portfolio will be reviewed by one of our staff with you over Skype. Our storytellers are then regularly selected from our membership through a careful matching process. Selected PWB photographers or videographers go on a once-in-a-lifetime volunteer experiences to document the incredible grassroots organizations that we champion. These organisations use the images and video for their own various educational, communications and storytelling purposes while PWB uses our platform to share these stories with the world through our PWB TV web series, the PWB Magazine, exhibits, publications, and more. PWB also gives every selected photographer or videographer a Fundraising Page to help cover costs of the project.
Photographs and videos from our program go on to be featured in our magazine, exhibits, blog, and various other publications including the Huffington Post, Huffington Post Travel, CBC, Rangefinder, National Geographic, The Economist, SLR Lounge, the UN-HABITAT 2013 Handbook, Guttenberg Press, Alternavox, Photo Life, Hart House Camera Club and many others. You can also watch our founder's TEDx talk.
