ABOUT THE charity
This organization specializes in the provision of first response mental health interventions and psychological aid to refugees and people in crises. They work to deploy mental health and psychosocial support to displaced populations in order to improve their mental health and well-being, to restore order in their lives, and to prevent further psychological escalation.
Upon arrival to Athens, the photographer will be introduced to the organization’s team. He/she will tour to their centres and refugee camps in Athens, meet staff and volunteers. The photographer will also visit Athens’ neighbourhoods where a large population of migrants and refugees live; and take photos and interview participants in the organization’s programs for parents, young women and youth. The content will be used for their website, reports, media coverage, marketing materials, social media, exhibitions.
Storytelling - Must submit a minimum of one (1) original article, 800-1000 words upon completion of the project, to complement the images/footage of this assignment.
Proficient in photo-documentary/photojournalism
Experience using editing software (Photoshop, InDesign)
Experience working with vulnerable populations
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Adaptable to new and different situations, flexible and patient
Proficient in videography
