ABOUT THE PROJECT PARTNER
Founded in 2006, this organization provides underprivileged children with an education. It runs two primary schools and a secondary school which house over 500 Guatemalan children that would otherwise not have been able to go to school. The organization is self-sustainable due to several business initiatives such as a Spanish school and tourist activities. This organization is continually striving to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of their students, as well as the academic. All of the children in our programs receive one nutritionally balanced meal, medical and dental care, instruction on proper health and hygiene, sexual education, and access to on-site social work and psychology departments.
The focus will be documenting this NGO’s educational initiatives which are based in three school sites in various classrooms with children of all ages. The volunteer will be documenting classroom activities with school children, teachers, and volunteers. In addition, the photographer will document the various other programs at the schools, including the psychology and social work programs, the health and dental programs, the sponsorship and donation programs, and the Spanish language school.
