ABOUT THE PROJECT PARTNER
This organization’s mission is to create new opportunities for the Ixil People through sustainable programs of positive change. Their goals include community development for change in extreme poverty.
The photographer will be introduced to the organization’s staff and volunteers. He/she will visit several project sites, and host personal interviews with the Indigenous people group. These interviews would have three subject headings – experiences during the genocide, life in extreme poverty, project involvement with the NGO. The images will be used on the organization’s blog, website, social media, and public speaking engagements.
Proficient in photo-documentary/photojournalism
Experience using editing software (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign)
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Respect to cultural sensitivity as you will be working with vulnerable populations
Adaptable to new and different situations
*Project itinerary will be set upon contact with photographer based on physical ability
