ABOUT THE PROJECT PARTNER
This NGO transforms the health of communities in Guatemala by creating high-quality health solutions to fill the critical gap in care. They enable healthcare providers and patients to work in a collaborative, communal environment to provide workable solutions to common health problems for their patients and community. The organization provides healthcare to poor, marginalized and Indigenous patients, who otherwise would not receive care. They focus on chronic disease. Their goals include: providing care for diabetes, hypertension and cardiac diseases, as well as for cancer, and difficult pediatric solutions – such as down syndrome and epilepsy.
The photographer will visit several project sites in order to document the NGO’s work in different programs and communities (including: Nutrition program, research program, Diabetes clinic, Chronic Kidney Disease study program and women’s health promotion/microfinance program).
