ABOUT THE PARTNER PROJECT

This NGO’s mission is to contribute to the empowerment of communities through enhancing societal participation and creating educational opportunities for rural women and children. The vision involves helping create self-reliant and harmonious communities through a commitment to the goal of enabling individuals to realize their full potential and lead prosperous lives.

PROJECT DETAILS

The focus will be documenting this NGO’s work based in various project sites in the Kishangaj area. The volunteer will be documenting initiatives in female literacy, formal and nonformal education for children, rural employment opportunities, education about income-generating skills, community health and awareness programs, and forums on various social issues. The activities reach out to poor and marginalized women, adolescents and disadvantaged and marginalized children from rural and urban areas of Kishanganj district.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Experience in photo-documentary or photojournalism
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills in English
  • Adaptable to new and different situations, flexible and patient

 Desirable

  • Previous experience in India preferred
  • Hindi is an asset
