ABOUT THE ngo
This NGO’s mission is to rebuild schools affected by natural disasters and help communities in underprivileged areas to receive a better education. Their main activities/projects include: rebuilding schools, providing new and safe classrooms, supplying furniture, as well as educational toys, books, and stationaries. Additionally, they provide and facilitate suitable training programs for the teachers and students.
Upon arrival in Bali, the Associate will need to take a connecting flight to Sumba to meet with the NGO’s team for orientation and introduction to volunteers. During the project, he/she will visit schools (early childhood school, elementary school, junior high school) in order to learn about the NGO’s activities and interview the project participants. The photographer will also focus on developing a story on students, their daily life and family, as well as issues around the village (such as poverty and how the organization is trying to develop and support the sustainability of the schools). The photos will be used for various proposal needs, including school reconstruction proposal, fundraising, event/partnership proposals, presentations for potential donors; as well as reports, website, newsletter, social media, brochures and coffee table books.
