ABOUT THE charity
This non-governmental local organization is a survivor-led organization. Their mission is to end the physical and sexual exploitation of women and girls, ensure their legal rights and empower them to live free and dignified lives. Their goals include eradication of human trafficking and re-integration of human trafficking survivors into society as respected members of the community. The organization works to increase women’s access to justice and systematic change within the legal system.
The videographer will interview young and physically disabled young women who dropped out of school due to teenage pregnancy, poverty, discrimination, and other cultural practices. There will be a focus on documenting the efforts to provide these young women for opportunities for growth and development. In particular, there is a current ongoing construction project to build a Tailoring and Dressmaking Center. The Center will be used to train these young women, to give them employable skills, and a to give them start-up capital after their training.
