ABOUT THE charity

Established in 1992, this NGO’s mission is to create violence-free homes and society where women and children can live a life of dignity. The organization is mainly focused in the area of safety, security and empowerment of the women and girls faced with different kinds of violence; they are also involved in the economic empowerment of the women in the non-formal area of economy. Their main activities/projects include: operation of shelters for gender-based violence and sexual violence survivors; organizing awareness against sexual and gender-based, as well as domestic violence; children shelters – which will be documented by the Associate during this project (in Manohara, Jagritinar, Godawari, Sindhupalchwok, Thamel, Pathibhara, Ramhiti).

PROJECT DETAILS

*PWB Camera Program Project

During the project, the Associate will be required to organize a workshop for the NGO’s team on photography and storytelling. 

The images will be used for social media, presentations, other marketing materials and campaigns. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Storytelling - Must submit a minimum of one (1) original article, 800-1000 words upon completion of the project, to complement the images/footage of this assignment.   

  • Teaching/workshop facilitator skills – PWB CAMERA PROGRAM PROJECT! 

  • Proficient in photo-documentary/photojournalism  

  • Experience using editing software (Photoshop, InDesign) 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills 

  • Adaptable to new and different situations, flexible and patient 

  • Respect to cultural sensitivity  

 Desirable

  • Videography 

  • Experience in overseas development and travelling abroad in developing nations 

  • Understanding of the issues associated with gender-based and domestic violence.
