ABOUT THE PARTNER
Established in 2013, this artisan cooperative was created by women who share experiences of poverty and loneliness. The group members encourage one another as women, learn new skills and sell artisan goods such as accessories and home wares. The efforts of the cooperative aim to help the women and their families secure financial independence and stability.

Upon arrival in Kigali airport, the Associate Photographer will be introduced to the cooperative’s team and Manager. He/she will familiarize him/herself with the corporative needs and the women; visit several key project sites (including workshops such as painting, paper-bead demonstration); and visit local retail outlets to highlight the cooperative’s partnerships and the work done in the community.
The images will be used on the organization’s their website, social media, campaigns and crowd-funding platforms, as well as featured by PWB. Your job is to demonstrate the impact of the cooperative through your storytelling. Your images should tell a story that highlights the experiences of community members and the importance of supporting women run businesses.
Storytelling - Must submit a minimum of one (1) article 800-1000 words upon completion of the project, to complement the images/footage of this assignment.
Proficient in photo-documentary/photojournalism
Experience using editing software (Photoshop, InDesign)
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Open to new experiences
Experience working with vulnerable populations
Proficient in videography
