Founded in 1989 as a refuge for a handful of baboons whom had been subjected to abuse by humans, this NGO has since grown into the largest rehabilitation centre for chacma baboons worldwide. With purpose built facilities they are committed to the rescue, care, rehabilitation, release and protection of wild animals; raising awareness and providing education for local communities; contributing to the increasing knowledge of primate behaviour through ethical research projects.

The volunteer will spend time with the NGO staff members and volunteers, shadowing them while they work. Time will be spent with the volunteers as they clean, feed, prepare bottles, and interact with the youngest orphan baboons. They will also observe large enclosure cleanings and maintenance of the older troops as well as get an opportunity to be present for an orphan baboon baby and adult female baboon introduction.
