ABOUT THE PARTNER PROJECT

Founded in 2009, this NGO’s mission is to revive the hopes of disadvantaged children by creating opportunities for them to be skilled, self-sufficient, and productive members of society. This organization helps empower and create opportunities for social mobility for street-involved children by using music as a social tool.  

PROJECT DETAILS

The focus will be documenting this NGO’s work based in two project sites. In particular, the focus will be documenting the transformative impact of this NGO’s work on the lives of street-involved children. The incumbent will be documenting areas where street-involved children live (aka “slums”), programs for dance, concert band, and art and design, as well as attending and documenting a concert performed by children involved in the program.  

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Experience in photo-documentary or photojournalism

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

  • Adaptable to new and different situations, flexible and patient

  • Storytelling - Must submit a minimum of one (1) article 800-1000 words upon completion of the project, to complement the images/footage of this assignment.

 Desirable

  • Experience in overseas development

  • Experience travelling abroad in developing nations

  • Enjoys working with children
