ABOUT THE PARTNER PROJECT
This nonprofit organization’s vision is a world in which women realize their full socio-economic and civic potential. Their mission is to empower women to manager their socio-economic development processes through strengthening community participation, advocacy and service provision. Their goals include empowering women to eliminate any practices inhibiting their social and economic development; supporting inclusive education for vulnerable and marginalized children, especially young girls; enhancing community capacity to mitigate and adapt to climate for sustainable change; and strengthening organizational systems to enhance effective operation and management of its processes, structures and programs.
The photographer will be introduced to the NGO’s staff and volunteers. He/she will visit several project area to document the NGO’s work related to women farmers in agribusiness, food security and nutrition, youth vocational skills, water sanitation and hygiene programs in schools and households, women and land rights, as well as social services advocacy.
The organization will use the images to raise resources to benefit the communities where they work, and share stories of change and challenges with stakeholders. The images will be used on social media, newsletters, and publications.
Proficient in photo-documentary/photojournalism
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Open to new experiences
Storytelling - Must submit a minimum of one (1) article 800-1000 words upon completion of the project, to complement the images/footage of this assignment.
Interest and understanding of issues surrounding gender equality
Note: As per the NGO, you should expect approximately $320 out of pocket expenses based on your food and recreational preferences.
