ABOUT THE PARTNER PROJECT
Established in 2006, this organization’s mission is to use the power of sports to offer education and training programs, life skills development and health promotion among vulnerable children and women with a mobilized community support, including boys and young men.
Their goals include: to combat HIV/AIDS through prevention, care and support programs for a positive living; to protect and improve the welfare of OVC’s plus the youth; to eradicate poverty among the youths through support systems, involvement in self-sustaining income generating, vocational trainings and revolving fund microcredit.
During the project, the photographer will be visiting several project sites in the neighbouring areas (including, slums in Acholi Quarter, Kitintale, Naguru). He/she will meet with the organization’s Women Group, and visit their Project School, Tailor and Hairdressing Program, Soccer Academy. The images will be used to help the organization increase their visibility and fundraising purposes.
Storytelling - Must submit a minimum of one (1) article 800-1000 words upon completion of the project, to complement the images/footage of this assignment.
Proficient in photo-documentary/photojournalism (and videography)
Experience using editing software (Photoshop, InDesign)
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Adaptable to new and different situations, flexible and patient
Respect to cultural sensitivity.
Experience in overseas development and travelling abroad in developing nations
