ABOUT THE charity

Established in 2015, this NGO’s mission is to provide opportunities and empower young women and girls to become leaders in their communities through self-sustainability, a holistic education, economic empowerment to realize their full potential. They work on addressing the following key issues: Reproductive Health Issues, Gender Gap and Women’s Rights, Education. 

SDGs: Gender Equality, Good Health and Well-being; Quality Education. 

PROJECT DETAILS

Upon arrival in Kampala, the Associate will be introduced to the NGO’s team. He/she will meet with the in-country coordinator, discuss project needs and get familiar with the organization. During week 1 and 2 of the project, the photographer will visit several project sites (such as schools and local communities). 

The images will be used for social media, website, blog posts and printed materials which will be shared with their partner organizations; other marketing materials. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Storytelling - Must submit a minimum of one (1) original article, 800-1000 words upon completion of the project, to complement the images/footage of this assignment.   

  • Proficient in photo-documentary/photojournalism  

  • Experience using editing software (Photoshop, InDesign) 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills 

  • Adaptable to new and different situations, flexible and patient 

  • Respect to cultural sensitivity 

 Desirable

  • Videography 

  • Experience in overseas development and travelling abroad in developing nations
