ABOUT THE PARTNER PROJECT

Founded in 2007, this NGO’s mission is to create a real and lasting positive change for poor residents in Thua Thien Hue, Vietnam. This under-served community includes those living with physical disabilities, mental challenges, families impacted by Agent Orange as well as residents who have been resettled into the area. This NGO provides assistance and support by giving them access to quality education, health care services, equal economic development opportunities, and improved environmental conditions

PROJECT DETAILS

The focus will be documenting this NGO’s work in various project sites across the region.   Specifically it will involve photographing diverse programs delivered in the community that serve to educate and empower their target population.  These include:

·       The delivery of systems that support basic human necessities such as clean water and sanitation

·       Community programs that deliver enhanced educational opportunities like after school book clubs

·       Documenting local entrepreneurs who have benefitted from micro-financing and have created small businesses that have helped lift them and their families out of poverty

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Experience in photojournalism

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

  • Comfortable riding on a scooter

  • Adaptable to new and different situations, flexible and patient

 Desirable

  • Experience travelling abroad in developing nations
