ABOUT THE PARTNER PROJECT

This NGO’s mission is empowering the children, young people and their wider families with skills, knowledge and opportunities to improve their education, livelihood, health and protecting their environment. Their main activities include: education, sports, arts and creative activities, skills development and small-scale agricultural programs.

PROJECT DETAILS

Upon arrival at Livingstone, the Associate will be meeting the NGO’s staff and provided with orientation/basic training of the NGO/community. He/she will visit various project sites, including schools in order to document the NGO’s programs; as well, he/she will visit the Kabuyu village, the Maramba and Ngwenya Communities to interview the project participants. The Associate is also going to photograph the Football girls and boys team, and visit the nearby Sachiwasa village. During the project, the Associate will be required to organize a workshop for the NGO’s team on photography and storytelling.

The images will be used for social media, donors/supporters materials, as well as the NGO’s website.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Storytelling - Must submit a minimum of one (1) original article, 800-1000 words upon completion of the project, to complement the images/footage of this assignment.

  • Teaching/workshop facilitator skills – PWB CAMERA PROGRAM PROJECT!

  • Proficient in photo-documentary/photojournalism

  • Experience using editing software (Photoshop, InDesign)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

  • Adaptable to new and different situations, flexible and patient

  • Respect to cultural sensitivity


 Desirable

  • Videography

  • Experience in overseas development and travelling abroad in developing nations
