ABOUT our community partner

Zambia’s population is largely made up of youth and young adults. Those aged 7-35 years old make up 70 percent of the country. This NGO’s mission is to empower children, young people and their families to get involved in efforts to address socio-economic, environmental and developmental issues such as poverty, unemployment, poor food security and poor environmental management. The NGO provides its community with access to education through public schools and pre-schools, as well as free sports, arts and creative activities, skills development and small-scale agricultural programs.

Assignment DETAILS

You will visit various project sites, including schools, Kabuyu village, and other local communities. You will have the privilege of photographing the girls’ and boys’ football teams, and visit the nearby Sachiwasa village.

The images will be used for fundraising purposes, social media, web-based and traditional communications to motivate their existing supports and attract new supporters. Your images will also be shared by PWB to help support the work of the NGO and the PWB program.

Your job is to demonstrate the impact of the NGO through your storytelling and help convey to donors and grant programs the value of their financial support. Your images should tell a story that highlights experiences of community members and the NGO’s mission to promote physical and financial well-being, and sustainable communities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in overseas development and travelling abroad in developing nations

  • Adaptable to new and different situations, flexible and patient

  • Respect to cultural sensitivity

  • Storytelling - Must submit a minimum of one (1) original article of 500-750 words, written in third-person, upon completion of the project, to complement the images of this assignment.
