OPERATIONS MANAGER

Paid Contract, 60 hours per month | 12 Months | Remote (must be US-based and have experience with US charities)

The Operations Manager is the right hand to the Executive Director, overseeing daily operations and programs, and driving business growth by identifying new opportunities, building relationships, and executing strategies to expand the organization's reach and revenue. They focus on strategic planning, sales, and relationship management, often involving market research, lead generation, and deal negotiation.

  • Are passionate about radical and revolutionary, decolonized storytelling-based approaches to addressing intersecting environmental, conservation, and social justice issues.

  • Have a keen eye for ethical, artistic excellence with experience in the photography space.

  • Are a go-getter who is impact-driven and wants to put their fundraising and business development background to good use in a non-profit environment.

  • Have a comprehensive understanding fundraising and development opportunities for a 501(c)(3) registered in the United States in the non-profit/photography/environment realms.

  • Are excellent at building and maintaining relationships.

  • Are well-organized and great at communicating online and over zoom, as well as in networking events.

  • Align with and commit to the organization’s values, code of ethics, operations manual and other internal policies. 

  • Professional, adaptive, and responsible.

What you would be responsible for:

  • Identifying and Pursuing New Opportunities:

    This involves researching new opportunities, identifying potential funders or partners, and developing strategies to develop values-aligned relationships.

  • Building and Maintaining Relationships:

    Cultivate strong relationships with both existing and potential clients. 

  • Co-Developing and Executing Strategies:

    They create and implement plans to expand the organization's impact and achieve goals.

  • Negotiating:

    Involved in negotiating contracts, pricing agreements, and securing partnerships. 

  • Training and Mentoring:

    They may train and mentor community or team members and other stakeholders, helping them improve their skills and achieve their goals. 

  • Reporting and Analyzing:

    Track progress, analyze results, and report on business performance to ensure goals are being met. 

  • Attending our weekly Wednesday meetings starting at at 6:45pm EST (online).
