CHANGE THE STORY, CHANGE EVERYTHING.

ETHICAL STORYTELLING CERTIFICATE (Live, Virtual) | 1 session, 3 hours *

The Introduction to Ethical Storytelling Course is a 3 hour, intensive dive toward understanding what building an ethical visual storytelling practice looks like through all processes of a project, assignment, or creative endeavor that involves the use of images, art, and representation and how to begin applying it in your own work.

This course uses a decolonial lens to center core concepts including identity and positionality, accountability and collaboration, and the construction of narratives in order to build a story.

Participants will be thoughtfully engaged by this course as it sparks critical discussions and creates a space for challenging perspectives and growing mindfulness in one’s art through guided discussions and reflection-based exercises.

By the end of this course participants will be able to identify and consider various factors concerning ethical and visual literacy practices before, during, and after a photography assignment, project, or creative endeavor, and use a basic framework to evaluate their storytelling decisions before, during, and after a project.

Participants will gain a network creators and storytellers to share projects while engaging with thought-provoking questions and discussions that enhance critical thinking skills and develop personal and professional growth. After the full completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion.
